Running Assessment

What is it?

We offer physiotherapy-led running assessments designed to improve running economy, enhance performance, and reduce the risk of injury.

Your 60-minute session begins with a detailed history of your running experience, training load, goals, and any past or current injuries. Next, your physiotherapist will complete an orthopaedic assessment of strength, stability and mobility to evaluate any movement imbalances that may affect performance or increase injury risk.

This is followed by a comprehensive treadmill running gait analysis to evaluate your biomechanics in real time.

Based on all findings, your physiotherapist will provide a clear summary of your assessment, individualized training recommendations, targeted exercises to address imbalances or inefficiencies, and any relevant running cues to help improve your technique.

Please note: If you are currently experiencing an injury, we recommend booking a standard physiotherapy appointment for a thorough assessment and treatment plan tailored to your return to pain-free running. The running assessment is not intended to diagnose or treat an active injury. If you are managing an injury and would also like a running assessment, the session will focus on optimizing running form and efficiency while identifying biomechanical, orthopaedic and/or training factors that may be contributing to ongoing symptoms.

Running assessments are currently offered by Midori Lam at our Wilson clinic. Please call the clinic or book online for an assessment.
