Renzo Carbonel
Hi, my name is Renzo. My journey as a physical therapist began at 18 when I herniated a disc in my lower back. I know firsthand that pain and injury can be challenging—even frustrating— but having been helped by some amazing people, I also know that there is hope beyond pain.
I studied Human Kinetics at TWU and was the athletic therapist for their Track & Field and Cross-Country teams before going on to work as a personal trainer and kinesiologist in Vancouver. I then pursued physiotherapy at UBC and started my physio career in Fort Langley, taking extra courses in chronic pain, the nervous system, athletic assessments, and visceral manipulation. If I had to condense everything I learned in those ten years into one phrase, I would say that compassion and understanding are the foundations of healing.
Coming out of our assessment, my goal is for you to fully understand the root cause of your pain or injury and to give you a clear idea of the healing process; we’ll identify the measures we use to track your progress along the way, and we’ll work together to find a style and rhythm of care that works for you. My approach to treatment is hands-on and exercise-based, and my passion is in helping people restore their sense of confidence, wellbeing, and physical freedom.
